At the heart of the Crus
Beaujolais
My homeland terroir
Domaine Philippe Viet
I farm 2,5 hectares of vines in Régnié-Durette on the Haute-Ronze sector. These vines will produce wines classified in Cru Régnié and Beaujolais Villages. This granitic terroir is known for producing smooth and fruity wines with a delicate tannic structure.
0.60 hectares of Fleurie Poncié and 1.20 ha of Beaujolais (Corcelles) will add up to my vineyard in 2020.
Respect for my terroir and its soils are a constant guide to my farming practices.
Therefore, I am working towards the Agriculture Biologique certification. Right from the start, I banned the use of chemical weeding and next year I’ll be starting the groundwork.
In the winery, during harvest, my wines are crafted with low intervention and gentle extraction to produce soft and elegant wines.
My inspirations
• Eric Janin (Domaine Paul Janin et Fils, Romanèche-Thorins) for his precision and his constant search for excellence.
• Ray and Maree Nadeson (Lethbridge Wines, Geelong, Australie) for their creativity and their technical mastery.
• Bernard et Matthieu Baudry (Domaine Bernard Baudry, Chinon) for their love of their terroir and their sense of sharing.
